Golf, Leon, Octavia, A3: the jobs people do at home

On VAG cars from the last fifteen years, three jobs used to mean a trip to the garage. First, winding back the rear calipers of the electronic parking brake to change the pads. Second, regenerating the particulate filter on TDIs that do a lot of town driving. Third, registering a new battery on the models that require it. All three are on the VAWS V2.0.

Group vans and luxury makes

Both VAWS tools also cover VW Commercial Vehicles (Transporter, Crafter, Caddy), the LT3 and light MAN vans, as well as Bentley, Bugatti and Lamborghini. If you have a Volkswagen work van and a SEAT at home, one tool covers both.

New cars and older cars

They speak CAN-FD, used on the group's latest platforms, as well as TP2.0, TP1.6 and KWP2000, the protocols on older VAG cars. We explain this in what DoIP and CAN-FD are.

If you want to code

No VAWS tool does coding or unlocks hidden features. That's what the CR Max models are for: they code on VAG and seven other manufacturer groups. If you also have a car from another make, the CR Pro does what the VAWS V2.0 does, on 58 makes.

Which VAWS do I need to regenerate the DPF on a TDI?

The VAWS V2.0. The V1.0 doesn't have that function.

Do they work on a Transporter or a Crafter?

Yes. Both VAWS tools cover VW Commercial Vehicles, the LT3 and light MAN vans.

Can I unlock hidden features on my Golf?

Not with the VAWS tools. Coding is on the CR Max models.
