CR Ultra P description
The iCarsoft CR Ultra P is the top model in the CR range we stock. It's the CR Ultra tablet with a different VCI, the CR Link J2534 pass-thru, which lets you reprogram control units with each manufacturer's original software. 170+ makes, DoIP, CAN-FD, 40 service functions and 3 years of updates, for €1,749.95.
What J2534 is and when you need it
Some repairs end with a software update to the ECU: a manufacturer campaign, a replacement control unit or a module that has to be loaded with the original calibration. The main dealer does it with its own software. With a J2534 interface, so can you: you connect your PC to the car through the CR Link, log in to the manufacturer's portal and load the original file.
Meanwhile, the tablet is still a complete diagnostic tool. You don't have to choose one or the other.
Everything else, same as the CR Ultra
iCarsoft online programming on 13 makes, coding and adaptations, network topology, a one-touch full scan and access to the FCA Secure Gateway with a paid AutoAuth account. Its 40 functions range from the usual resets to gateway calibration, automatic gearbox learning, transport mode and high-voltage battery. It speaks CAN-FD, DoIP, LIN and SAE J2534, wirelessly or over RJ45, and comes with 10 OBD-I adapters for pre-OBD2 cars.
Electric vehicle and commercial vehicle diagnostics can be added as options.
Is it worth it over the CR Ultra?
The 10.1" screen, 2.0 GHz processor, 4 GB and 128 GB, 12600 mAh battery, functions and accessories are the same on both. The only difference is the VCI. If you don't reprogram with manufacturer software, the CR Ultra is all you need and saves you €260. If you've ever had to send a car to the dealer just to flash a control unit, the P pays for itself on that job. We go into detail in CR Ultra vs CR Ultra P.
