CR Ultra description

The iCarsoft CR Ultra is iCarsoft's workshop tablet: more than 170 makes, online ECU programming on 13 of them, a topology map and 40 service functions. 10.1" screen, Android 10, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB, with a wireless VCI, DoIP and CAN-FD. It costs €1,489.95 with 3 years of updates.

Built for everyday work in a multi-brand garage

The first thing you notice is the topology. When you scan, you see the car's network drawn out: which modules respond, which have faults and where communication drops out. On a network fault, that saves a lot of searching in the dark.

The second is programming. On 13 makes, including Audi, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, it can program control units online, as well as code, adapt and customise. And on Fiat, Jeep and Chrysler models with a Secure Gateway (SGW), it gets in with an AutoAuth account, which you sign up for separately.

40 functions and a battery tester

Alongside the usual jobs (oil, parking brake, steering angle, DPF, injectors), it handles workshop tasks such as automatic gearbox learning, ride height, adaptive headlights, AdBlue/SCR, coolant bleeding, immobiliser and gateway calibration. A battery tester with clamps comes in the case.

Classic cars and heavy vehicles

It comes with 10 OBD-I adapters for cars built before OBD2: BMW 20-pin, Mercedes 38-pin, Nissan 14+16, Fiat 3, Mitsubishi/Hyundai 12+16, Toyota 17 and 22, Honda 3, GM/VAZ 12 and Chrysler 6. For heavy vehicles it needs the optional HD2000 package. If your work is mainly trucks, the HD V4.0 is made for exactly that.

Updates

The first 3 years are included. After that, renewing is optional: if you don't renew, the tool keeps working with the software it has.

CR Ultra or CR Ultra P?

The tablet and software are identical. The CR Ultra P swaps the VCI for the CR Link J2534, which lets you reprogram with the manufacturer's own software.
