CR Pro+ description
The iCarsoft CR Pro+ is iCarsoft's most complete handheld with buttons. It reads every system on 58 makes, it's bi-directional and it has 48 service functions. 4.3" 800×480 screen, OBD2 cable and free updates for life, for €339.95.
Test before you replace the part
What sets it apart from a code reader is being able to give commands. You tell the EGR valve to open, the cooling fan to start or an injector to fire, then watch whether it responds. If the component works when asked, the problem lies in the wiring or the signal reaching it, not the part itself. So you stop buying parts blind.
Everything else it does like any good multi-brand tool: a full scan of every control unit with AutoVIN, live data, freeze frame and the OBD2 emissions modes so you can check the readiness monitors before the MOT or NCT.
48 functions, not just the usual ones
The 9 everyday maintenance jobs are there: oil, electronic parking brake, steering angle, throttle, DPF, injectors, ABS bleeding, battery and TPMS. On top of those come 39 advanced functions you'd normally only find on pricier tablets: air suspension, EGR learning, AdBlue, turbo, clutch, Start&Stop and NOx sensor. What shows up on each car depends on its make, model and year.
What it doesn't have
It isn't a touchscreen, it doesn't update over Wi-Fi (you do it from a PC with the TF card) and it doesn't do dealer-level ECU coding. If that's what you're after, the next step up is the CR Max, and we explain the jump in CR Pro+ vs CR Max P.
Compared with the CR Pro
Same 58 makes and the same system access. The CR Pro stops at 9 functions, has no active tests and uses a 4" 480×320 screen, and it's €60 cheaper. For maintaining your own cars it's enough. For tracking down awkward faults, go for the Pro+. If you were looking for the CR Genius, which is no longer made, this is the model that replaces it in our range.
