MB V2.0 description
The iCarsoft MB V2.0 is iCarsoft's diagnostic tool for Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Sprinter and Maybach. It reads every control unit in the car and has 9 service functions, with free updates for life. It costs €194.95.
Cars and Sprinters with one tool
Plenty of buyers have a Mercedes at home and a Sprinter for work, or run a small fleet of vans. The MB V2.0 covers both. On a CDI it forces a DPF regeneration and codes injectors. On a C-Class or E-Class with an electronic parking brake, it puts the callipers into service mode so you can change the pads. And after a battery change, it registers the new one.
The list is rounded off by service indicator reset, steering angle, ABS bleeding, throttle learning and TPMS reset. It reads and clears faults on the engine, gearbox, ABS/ESP, airbag and comfort systems, with live data to check a sensor before you replace it.
Older Mercedes and early Sprinters
With the OBD2 cable in the box you can get into any Mercedes with a 16-pin socket. Pre-2003 models with the round 38-pin socket, and the Sprinter T1N with its 14-pin socket, need optional adapters sold separately. If your vehicle is from that era, ask us before you buy.
What the MB V2.0 doesn't do
It isn't bi-directional (iCarsoft has active tests on the MB V3.0) and it doesn't code control units.
Is it worth it over the MB V1.0?
The MB V1.0 reads the same cars for €60 less, but stops at two functions: oil and steering angle. If your Mercedes is a diesel or has an electronic parking brake, as most from recent years do, the V2.0 is the one that saves you garage visits. We explain it in V1 vs V2, and if the filter needs doing, in how to regenerate the DPF.
