FR V2.0 description
The iCarsoft FR V2.0 reads every system on 12 French and Italian makes from 1996 to 2025 and has 9 service functions. Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Renault, Dacia and Renault Samsung on one side; Fiat, Abarth, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati on the other. It costs €194.95.
One tool for a mixed driveway
It's very common to have a 308 and a Clio in the same household, or a Sandero and a Tipo. You used to need two make-specific tools. The FR V2.0 is the one iCarsoft now builds for all of them, which is why there's no RT V2.0 or CP V2.0: this replaces both.
What you'll use it for
On HDi, BlueHDi and dCi engines, forcing a DPF regeneration when the car asks for one and coding injectors after replacing them. On cars with an electronic parking brake, putting it into workshop mode to change the rear pads (we explain how in how to open an electronic parking brake). And the routine service jobs: clearing the service reminder, registering a new battery, calibrating the steering angle, bleeding the ABS, relearning the throttle and resetting the TPMS.
It reads and clears faults on the engine, gearbox, ABS, airbag and every other control unit, with live data. When you plug it in it recognises the car from the VIN, and it speaks CAN-FD for the newest models.
What the FR V2.0 doesn't do
It isn't bi-directional, so it doesn't activate components. If you need actuator tests, iCarsoft has them in the V3.0 range.
Moving up from a CP V1.0 or RT V1.0?
The CP V1.0 (Peugeot and Citroën) and RT V1.0 (Renault and Dacia) cost €60 less and will read faults, but they don't do DPF, parking brake or battery. On a French diesel from the last ten years, the FR V2.0 pays for itself. The differences between generations are in V1 vs V2.
