What really matters in a workshop

Both CR Ultra models come with 10 OBD-I adapters, a battery tester and the BMW F-Chassis cable in the case, plus three years of updates. After that, renewal is optional and the tool keeps working even if you don't renew.

What J2534 is and whether you need it

J2534 is a standard that lets you use the VCI as an interface for the manufacturer's own software and reflash control units with its files. If you are never going to reprogram with the manufacturer's software, the CR Ultra is enough. We explain it in CR Ultra vs CR Ultra P.

Motorcycles, trucks and tyres

Frequently asked questions

Which iCarsoft should I choose to open a garage?

To start with, the CR Max P: bi-directional, does coding, has built-in DoIP and no subscription. If you are going to program control units, the CR Ultra P.

Do the CR Ultra models stop working when the updates run out?

No. After the three included years you keep using it with the software it has; renewing only gets you new coverage.

Does it get through the SGW Secure Gateway on Fiat, Jeep and Chrysler?

The CR Ultra models do, with an AutoAuth account, which is a paid service bought separately.
