Three Land Rover jobs that go through the electronics

Changing the rear pads on a Discovery or a Range Rover Sport means putting the electronic parking brake into service mode. The TDV6, SD4 and SDV6 engines have a particulate filter, which needs regenerating if the car does a lot of town driving. And a new battery has to be registered. The LR V2.0 does all three.

Air suspension: read yes, calibrate no

It's the question we get asked most about this make. Both LR tools read and clear air suspension faults, but neither calibrates ride height or runs active tests, because they are not bi-directional. For that you need a multi-brand tool: the CR Pro+ and the CR Max models have air suspension functions on compatible models.

Who the LR V1.0 is for

The LR V1.0 is for owners who want to turn up at the dealer knowing what's wrong with the car, or for a petrol Freelander or Jaguar without an electronic parking brake. For a recent diesel, it falls short.
