MB V1.0 description
The iCarsoft MB V1.0 is the most affordable make-specific tool for Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter, Smart and Maybach. It reads the engine, gearbox, ABS, airbag and other modules, clears the service reminder and calibrates the steering angle. It costs €134.95 and updates are free.
For the older Mercedes
It's a great match for a W202, W210, W203 or first-generation A-Class, cars whose servicing doesn't yet involve an electronic parking brake or battery registration. Pre-2003 models have the round 38-pin socket and need the iCarsoft adapter, sold separately. Early Sprinters use a 14-pin socket and have their own adapter too.
What the MB V1.0 does
It reads and clears faults on the engine, gearbox, ABS, airbag and other modules, and shows live data so you can check a sensor before replacing it. It resets the service reminder after an oil change (the process is in how to do an oil service reset) and calibrates the steering angle sensor after an alignment.
320×240 screen with buttons, six languages (English included) and updates over USB-C from your computer.
What the MB V1.0 doesn't do
It doesn't open the electronic parking brake, regenerate the DPF on CDI engines, register batteries or adapt the gearbox, the Smart's included: it reads the gearbox faults but doesn't adapt it. It isn't bi-directional.
Is it enough, or do you need the MB V2.0?
If you'll be changing pads with an electronic brake, regenerating the filter or registering the battery, you need the MB V2.0, which costs €194.95, reads every system and has a 4" screen and nine functions. For reading faults and clearing the service light, the V1.0 does the job.
