FA V1.0 description
The iCarsoft FA V1.0 is a diagnostic tool for Fiat and Alfa Romeo that reads and clears faults on the engine, ABS, airbag, transmission, power steering and other modules. It replaces the old i950 and costs €134.95.
Find out which control unit stored the fault
On a Punto, 500, Giulietta or MiTo, plenty of faults don't come from the engine: an ABS sensor, an airbag connector, the power steering. The FA V1.0 tells you which module holds the code, so you don't replace parts blind. Once it's fixed, you switch off the warning light; if you've never done it, there's a step-by-step in how to clear the engine warning light.
The service reset
It only does this on some models. If that's what you're after, send us the model and year before you buy and we'll confirm.
What the FA V1.0 doesn't do
It doesn't open the electronic parking brake, regenerate the DPF or register batteries. It plugs into the OBD2 port, has menus in English, Spanish and other languages, and the first year of updates is free, downloaded online.
FA V1.0, FA V2.0 or FR V2.0
The FA V2.0 is for Fiat only and adds electronic parking brake, battery, DPF, steering angle and throttle. The FR V2.0 covers Fiat and Alfa Romeo plus 10 other makes and has 9 service functions, oil reset included; if you'll be doing your own servicing, that's the one we recommend. The FA V1.0 makes sense for diagnosing faults on both makes for €60 less.
