FD V1.0 description
The iCarsoft FD V1.0 is the budget tool for Ford, covering European models as well as those from the US and Australia. It reads the engine, transmission, ABS, airbag and other modules, clears the service reminder and calibrates the steering angle. It costs €134.95 and updates free for life.
For your Focus, Fiesta, Kuga or Transit
It's the kind of tool that lives in the glovebox and comes out when a warning light appears. It works on a cable with buttons, no apps or pairing. You plug it in, pick the system and see what's stored: engine, ABS or airbag, the last two being systems a generic OBD2 reader can't see. With live engine data you can check a sensor before you replace it.
For servicing it does two things: it clears the service reminder after an oil change and calibrates the steering angle sensor.
FD V1.0 compatibility
European, US and Australian Fords from 1996 to 2025, through the 16-pin OBD2 port. iCarsoft's spec sheet also lists Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, GM and Holden, but it works best on Ford and its main systems. If you want it for one of those other makes, send us the VIN first. 320×240 screen and six languages. It isn't bi-directional.
Where the FD V1.0 falls short
It doesn't regenerate the DPF, open the electronic parking brake or register batteries. On a TDCi or EcoBlue with a particulate filter, those are exactly the functions you'll need.
Need more? The US V2.0
The US V2.0 covers the same makes with all-systems reading, a 4" screen, 15 languages and nine service functions, including electronic parking brake, DPF, battery and TPMS. If your Ford is a diesel or has an electronic brake, you'll recoup the €60 difference on the first job. Before anything else, you might find how to regenerate the DPF useful.
