POR V2.0 description
The iCarsoft POR V2.0 is a diagnostic tool for Porsche only. It reads every system on the car and has 9 service functions, with a 4" screen and free updates for life. It costs €194.95.
For owners and independent garages
It has two kinds of buyer. The Cayenne, Macan or Panamera owner who'd rather know what's going on before booking in, and who does their own oil or pad changes. And the independent garage that sees the odd Porsche and doesn't want to lose the job because it can't clear a warning. Both get access to the make's control units without paying for a dealer tool.
What you can do
Read and clear faults on the engine, gearbox, brakes, airbag and body electronics, and follow temperatures, pressures and sensors live. For servicing: service interval reset, electronic parking brake in workshop mode, new battery registration so the charging system knows it's been replaced, DPF regeneration and injector coding on diesels, steering angle, ABS bleeding, electronic throttle and TPMS.
It identifies the car from the VIN and speaks CAN-FD as well as KWP2000 and K-Line for older models.
What's left out
It doesn't run active tests. Those are on iCarsoft's POR V3.0, which sits above this one.
POR V2.0 or POR V1.0
The POR V1.0 has a 2.8" screen and two functions, oil and steering angle. For reading faults it's enough. To service a current Porsche yourself, with an electronic parking brake and a battery that needs registering, you need the V2.0. More in V1 vs V2.
