RT V1.0 description
The iCarsoft RT V1.0 is the cheapest tool we sell for Renault and Dacia. It reads the engine and around 24 other modules, including ABS, airbag, automatic gearbox, immobiliser, instrument cluster and climate control, and clears their faults. It costs €134.95. It's a fault code reader, not a servicing tool.
For the usual job: a warning light on the dash
Something lights up on the dash of a Clio, Mégane, Sandero or Duster. You plug the RT V1.0 into the OBD2 port, see the code and which control unit stored it, and decide whether it's a job for you or the garage. Once it's fixed, you clear the code and the light goes out. That alone saves the odd garage visit.
On some models it also resets the service interval.
What the RT V1.0 doesn't do
It won't clear the service reminder on every car: on the 2019 Dacia Logan, for example, it can't. It doesn't open the electronic parking brake (it won't work on the Espace IV, among others). It doesn't regenerate the particulate filter or register batteries.
It belongs to iCarsoft's older i9xx generation, which is no longer made. We keep it because, for reading faults, it's still the cheapest option. Menus in English, Spanish and other languages, with the first year of updates free.
There's no RT V2.0: it's the FR V2.0
For Renault and Dacia, iCarsoft now makes the FR V2.0, which also covers Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Fiat and Alfa Romeo, up to 12 makes. It reads every system and has 9 service functions, including electronic parking brake, DPF, battery and service reminder, and updates free for life. It costs €60 more. On a recent dCi with an electronic handbrake, it pays for itself on the first job.
