KR V2.0 description
The iCarsoft KR V2.0 is a make-specific fault reader for petrol and diesel Hyundai, Kia and Daewoo models. It gets into the engine, gearbox, ABS and airbag, clears the codes and resets the service interval. It costs €194.95.
What the KR V2.0 is for
It reads the faults a generic OBD2 reader can't see, because those stop at the engine. With the KR V2.0 you also find out why the airbag or ABS light is on, or which code the automatic gearbox has stored. Once it's fixed, you clear the code and switch off the light. When it makes sense to do that and when it doesn't is covered in how to clear the engine warning light.
After an oil change, it resets the service reminder.
KR V2.0 limits
It doesn't open the electronic parking brake, regenerate the particulate filter or bleed the ABS. It doesn't work on plug-in hybrids (PHEV) such as the Niro or Tucson plug-ins either.
It's the successor to the old KHD II and belongs to a generation iCarsoft no longer makes. It updates from the iCarsoft website using the cable and SD adapter in the box, with the first year of updates free. Menus in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
If you need more than fault reading
For the same price, the JP V2.0 covers Hyundai and Kia alongside 14 more Japanese and Korean makes, and has 9 service functions: electronic parking brake, DPF, battery, steering angle and more. It has a 4" screen and free updates for life. For a recent Tucson or Sportage, that's the one we recommend. If you only want to read faults and spend less, the KR V1.0 costs €60 less.
